Kashi Frozen Waffles with homemade strawberry syrup

Kashi has come up with a very healthy frozen waffle that even taste good. I found them at Costco. They are about .25 cents each. They are the Strawberry Flax kind. In each waffle you will find, :

4 g protien
3 g fiber
80 calories
2.5 g sugar
500 mg Omega-3

My families favorite way to eat them is with homemade strawberry syrup. That sounds hard to make, but it is soooo easy!

Strawberry Syrup

3 Cups frozen strawberries (you can use fresh too)
1-2 T sugar

Put frozen strawberries in the microwave for about 3 minutes. Put thawed strawberries in your blender with sugar and blend until smooth. That is it!

This gives your kids the extra fiber from the strawberries and it has a lot less sugar in it.

  1. LOVE this idea! Thanks for posting. We've been doing the spray-on waffles lately, organic batter blaster from Whole Foods. Not positive I will be able to pry the maple syrup of of their hands but it's worth a try.
    Thanks again and Happy Holidays
